Julia Sutton-Mattocks

Julia Sutton-Mattocks is a PhD student at the Universities of Bristol and Exeter, where she is researching the impact of medical advance on Czech- and Russian-language literature and film of the 1920s and early 1930s. Her wider academic interests are in cultures of early cinema and European literary and artistic Modernism. She is supervised by Dr Rajendra Chitnis (Bristol) and Dr Muireann Maguire (Exeter). When she isn’t directly involved in Question or her PhD, Julia enjoys literary translation, ceilidh dancing and choral singing.
