Alex is an AHRC-funded PhD student at the Universities of Bristol and Exeter. She researches anxiety in contemporary American literature from 1990-present, with a particular focus on the work of Paul Auster, Siri Hustvedt, Junot Díaz, and David Foster Wallace. Her wider research interests centre around the medical humanities, phenomenology, pain studies, and embodiment in a literary context.
